Overview
During each Holiday Season HELP of Southern Nevada has three signature programs; Adopt -A-Family, Turkey-A-Thon and the Toy Drive/Holiday Assistance. These programs allow HELP of Southern Nevada to assist over 1000 families receive a turkey and the fixin's for Thanksgiving and to assist over 10,000 kids with Holiday gifts, who otherwise would go without.
You can help us carry on the success of these impactful holiday programs by
volunteering,
adopting a family for the Holiday, donating toys, or donating turkeys and boxed food for the
side dishes.

Thanksgiving/Turkey-A-Thon
Each Thanksgiving HELP of Southern Nevada assists over 1000 families with Turkey and all the fixings for dinner. For a minimum of $25 donation we can feed a family of four at Thanksgiving. The pre-qualified families pick up their goodies right before Thanksgiving.

Holiday Assistance/Toy Drive
Approximately 2,500 families will benefit from visiting HELP of Southern Nevada's toy store and over 10,000 families in our community benefit from the Toy drive itself. This has become a signature event for individuals and companies to donate new toys for kids in our community. Pre-qualified families will benefit from the generosity of local residents and over a few days. A member of the pre-qualified family arrives at their assigned time to visit the HELP toy store. Once they arrive they will be escorted through the toy store to pick out two gifts per child.

Adopt-A-Family
For many years HELP of Southern Nevada has provided assistance to hundreds of Clark County families during the holiday season. Families are screened according to income and identification quidelinesto determine eligibility. HELP of Southern Nevada works with two major non-profit agencies in Clark County to cross reference applicant lists in an effort to eliminate duplication and abuse of the Adopt-A-Family program.
Should you adopt a family, you will be provided with a copy of a "Wish List" submitted as part of the application process by the family. The "Wish List" includes both clothing and toy items. It is NOT required that the sponsors fulfill all of the family's wishes, however the information provided to each sponsor will assist in knowing their family's needs and desires. We do ask that sponsors provide a gift card for the parents to purchase food for the family for the holiday week. The level of participation is determined solely by the individual sponsors who are adopting the family.
Should you decide to Adopt-A-Family for the holiday season please know that you are contributing to provide a better holiday for needy families who might go without, if not for your generosity.
All donations made through this holiday program stay in Southern Nevada and benefit families throughout Las Vegas and the surrounding communities.
