Overview
The Community Alternative Sentencing Program gives court appointed individuals the opportunity to serve the community, save taxpayers the cost of incarceration, and provide manpower to nonprofits and government agencies. Thousands of hours of labor are provided to the community at no cost through this program.
CAS will accept all adult and juvenile community service offenders referred by any of the following courts, Federal Court/Probation, Clark County District Court, Clark County Juvenile Court Services, Las Vegas Justice Court, Henderson Justice Court, Metro Day Arrest, Nevada State Parole & Probation, US Magistrate Court, and North Las Vegas Justice Court.
Community Alternative Sentencing (CAS) Program is given to sentenced offenders, juveniles and adults in any one of the following situations:
- In lieu of court fines, fees, or restitution
- In lieu of jail
- In lieu of probation
- As a condition of probation

The CAS program will accept all adult and juvenile community service offenders referred by any of the following courts:
- Federal Court/Probation
- Clark County District Court
- Clark County Juvenile Courts Services
- Henderson Justice Courts
- Las Vegas Justice Courts
- Metro Day Arrest
- Nevada State Parole & Probation
- North Las Vegas Justice Courts
- U.S. Magistrate Court
OUT-OF-COUNTY & OUT-OF-STATE REFERRALS
CAS will accommodate referrals moving to Las Vegas from another county or out-of-state. The referral must provide the proper transfer documentation.
All Adult and Juvenile offenders reporting to HELP of Southern Nevada for community service enrollment are required to bring the following items:
- COURT REFERRAL
- PICTURE I.D.
- FEE - cash or money orders only (for exact amount)
- $15.00 - Clark County Juvenile Courts Services
- $25.00 - All Clark County Justice Courts
- $35.00 - All Clark District Courts and Nevada State Parole & Probation
- $60.00 - Federal and Out of State/County Courts
- Juveniles must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
