Be a Community Organizer – Host A Donation Drive

You, your business or community organization can help our clients by hosting a donation drive for the important items they need! It’s an easy way to make a difference and give back to your community. Host a donation drive for:

Baby Food & Formula; Diapers & Wipes - These items are distributed to clients of our Baby First program, which supports at-risk and low income mothers to prevent infant mortality and low birth weight babies.

Food & Non-perishables – During Holiday Outreach, HELP distributes Thanksgiving food assistance to pre-qualified families to included a frozen turkey and the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Clothing – Infant through Adult – Infant and children’s clothing is distributed to Baby First clients. Professional attire is distributed to W.O.R.C. and Displaced Homemaker clients. Essential clothing and new underwear & socks are distributed by our homeless outreach team.

Bottled Water; Hygiene Items – These donations are distributed by our homeless outreach team. Suggested hygiene items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, Chap Stick/lip balm, combs, brushes, feminine hygiene items.

Toys – Toys are distributed during our Holiday Outreach in December. We recommend holding toy drives in late November and early December.

How It Works

Decide what kind of drive, and how long.

Do you want to have a 1 week food drive? A 1 day bottled water drive? What about a 2 week clothing drive? Or, a 3 day hygiene drive? It’s up to you!

Contact HELP’s Community Outreach Team

Contact HELP’s Community Outreach Team at (702) 836-2114 or aquinn@helpsonv.org, and let us know that you’re having a donation drive. We can email a flyer that you print yourself; and provide sample emails and social media postings.

Spread the Word About Your Donation Drive

Invite, encourage, and even solicit friends, peers, coworkers, family and neighbors to donate.

Get the word out by talking to friends, neighbors and coworkers, sending emails, and using your social network.

Hang posters & flyers in high-traffic areas or distribute to potential donors at gatherings.

Talk it up at staff meetings, kid's soccer games, or community gatherings, send an announcement in your work newsletter, or slip the information into a meeting agenda.

Collect Your Donations

Create a central place to collect donations whether it’s the office lobby, kitchen or break room; or your home. Clearly mark containers for donation drop offs. If someone wants to donate money instead, ask them to visit the donate page of our website at www.helpsonv.org.

Drop Off Your Donations at HELP

Bring your donations to HELP at 1640 E. Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas NV 89119. Or, if the donation is too large for your car, call our Community Outreach staff at (702) 836-2114 and we’ll send a delivery truck to pick it up.

Share Your Success

Provide us with your contact information, a short story and photos about your efforts, and we’ll share your generous story with our supporters. You deserve the fame and it shows other community members that they can make a difference, too. After your donation drive, tell us all about it! Email your success story to info@helpsonv.org.
